Experimental analysis of spatial properties of the sound field inside a car employing a spherical microphone array

The microphone array

Eigenmike® by mhAcoustics

•32 high quality capsules

•Pre-amplifiers and A/D converters packed inside the sphere

•All the signals are delivered to the audio interface through a digital CAT-6 cable

•The audio interface is an EMIB Firewire interface based on TCAT DICE chip:

- supported by any OS

- 8 digital output(ADAT) + 2 analogue output

- Wordclock

•The pre-amplifier gain control is operated by MIDI control


	A shotgun microphone comports a waste of time for covering all the directions on the hemisphere, changing more than one point of measure inside the theatre. For this reason we tried with a different approach employing a microphone array.
	In particulr we used an Eigenmike probe from mhAcoustics.
