University of Parma (Unipr) This project is described in the following paper, presented at the International Conference on Audio for Virtual and Augmented Reality, 2018 August 20–22, Redmond, WA, USA: "Individualized HRTF for playing VR videos with Ambisonics spatial audio on HMDs" Here the link for the Unipr version of Vive Cinema Link1: http://www.angelofarina.it/Public/ViveCinema/ It contains this instruction file plus: File 1. ViveCinemaUnipr_Development_rev193.zip This ZIP file contains all project files and folders used by Unipr to develop Vive Cinema starting by version 0.9.742 committed on 28/03/2018 by Andre' Chen. We hope that the author of Vive Cinema, Andre' Chen, transports our modified code inside the latest release of Vive Cinema enabling the new personalised HRTF feature for all users. File 2. ViveCinemaUnipr_Portable_rev193.zip This ZIP file contains files and folders needed to run Vive Cinema. Here "portable" means that you can place the program folder wherever you want but you still need to have Steam, SteamVR and possibly Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR installed on your PC. Here the link for the paper and poster presented at AVAR 2018 AES Conference: Link2: http://www.angelofarina.it/Public/AES-AVAR-2018/ ### Instructions Download and install Steam, Steam VR and (if needed) Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR. * File 1 1 - Download and unzip file 1 from link 1 2 - Open "vivecinema" folder and run ViveCinema_vs2017.sln using Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 community edition * File 2 1 - Download and unzip file 2 from link 1 3 - Open "vivecinema\bin" folder and run ViveCinemaUnipr.exe ### Features * SH2BIN filter (see link 2) loading from WAV file. Put your filters files in %programRoot%\sh2binFilters, they will be loaded at program startup. Press F6 to reload from %programRoot%\sh2binFilters or F7 to browse a folder. The files must be 4/9/16 channels, 256 x 2 samples (left + right), 32 bit float * Realtime filter switch. Use controller of Samsung Odyssey or HTC Vive to switch. Pushing trigger or pressing the touch pad changes the filter going up or down in the list of available filters respectively * Generalized (Neumann KU100) SH2BIN filters pre-equalised for the (crap) headphones of Samsung Odyssey and HTC Vive. They sound much better than the not-equalised Neumann KU-100 filters originally contained in Vive Cinema. ### License This project is distributed under the terms of GPLv3 with respect to FFmpeg ### References and infos This project was originally released by HTC corporation https://github.com/openbigdatagroup/vivecinema Email of authors of the modifications: marco.binelli@unipr.it, angelo.farina@unipr.it
